Swing For Kings With Swing The Fly

A few of us here at Swing The Fly are headed to western Alaska to swing for kings and we’re inviting a few of our friends!

Swing The Fly Great Lakes editor Rick Kustich and at least one more member of the team here are headed to Reel Action Alaska from Friday, June 26th through Friday, July 3rd, 2026 and we’re looking for 8 subscribers to join us.

Reel Action Alaska operates as a full-service tent lodge that has been designed to provide guests with all the comforts needed for living in the Alaskan bush. The location of the lodge (1 mile from tide water) was carefully chosen to provide guests a front row seat to chrome bright salmon fresh from the salt. The best holding water for fresh run kings is right in front of the lodge.

In addition to the fresh-run salmon opportunity there is also a tremendous rainbow trout fishery in both the lower and upper river. Kanektok River leopard rainbow trout are spectacular and swinging mouse patterns on the surface is one of the most productive and exciting approaches. After a full day on the river guests stay in new customized wall tents designed for comfort. Managing partner Paul Jacob and staff have extensive experience guiding and working in Alaska and will do their best to create an incredible experience.
